The Lakehead Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (LNPLC) was thrilled to celebrate the Grand Opening of our new location on Wednesday, October 7th!
This new space represents an important milestone in the growth of our clinic and our ability to provide accessible, comprehensive, team-based primary care to the Thunder Bay community.
Since opening in 2009, our team has grown from just 10 employees to more than 35 team members working collaboratively to support the health and well-being of our patients. Our interdisciplinary team brings together nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, system navigators, a dietitian, kinesiologist, pharmacist, and administrative professionals.
Our renovated space includes 19 exam rooms, including an accessible exam room, an accessible washroom, a larger boardroom with kitchen for group programming, a renovated gym for kinesiology appointments and group exercise, and additional space to support our growing team.
At the heart of everything we do is our Nurse Practitioner-led model of care, rooted in the philosophy of nursing and focused on health promotion, illness prevention, evidence-informed care, and caring for the whole person. We believe in building meaningful relationships with our patients and working collaboratively to support them in achieving their best possible health.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this new space possible and to our patients and community partners for continuing to support us along the way. We are excited to begin this next chapter in our new home!
